Jobs

Trainee Sound and Music Technician

Are you interested in a career in the arts?

Are you 18-24 years old and in receipt of Universal Credit?

If so, come and learn with artist and composer Emily Peasgood. No experience is required and you will be fully trained by Emily. Please help me spread the word by sharing this post!

About the job:

Emily creates sound art for galleries and outdoor spaces and is looking for an applicant who is interested in learning how to record, edit and produce sound.

This job involves helping to plan sound exhibitions, and experimenting with new technology like conductive paint. You will work alongside Emily to research ideas for new artworks and to help create them. You will have the opportunity to meet other artists, widen your network, and access opportunities.

You should have a ‘can-do’ attitude and initiative to figure things out. Emily is self-taught and enjoys working with people who are happy to get stuck in and find solutions to creative problems.

You will work with Emily at her studio in Ramsgate and occasionally accompany her on visits to galleries and locations for her art.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a successful award-winning artist and composer, and learn about working in the arts, music and technology.

Working hours: 25 hours per week, to be discussed. The position starts in January with a flexible starting date. In 2022, Emily is installing a new artwork near Dover Castle, and creating an exhibition for God’s House Tower in Southampton. If you’d like to be involved and learn more, please get in touch.

Wage: National Minimum Wage, administrated by Reed on behalf of DWP Kickstarter scheme.

Job length: 6 months

Training: Employability skills training will be provided by Reed.

This job is created as part of the Kickstart Scheme, and you must be in receipt of Universal Credit and 16-24 years of age to apply.
